Yes. The World GM Awards is a genuinely global programme that welcomes nominations from leaders across more than sixty countries and every level of seniority — from rising property leaders to seasoned regional directors. There are no geographic restrictions on who can be nominated.

Who Can Take Part, and How
General Managers, Cluster General Managers, Hotel Managers, Restaurant General Managers, Operations Managers, Spa General Managers, Wellness Directors, Tourism Directors, travel business leaders, airline operations leaders, airport leaders and aviation executives worldwide are all eligible. There are no geographic restrictions and leaders at every level are welcome.
Yes. We accept self-nominations as well as nominations submitted on a leader's behalf by a colleague, owner, employer or peer. In every case, the strongest submissions are supported by clear, specific evidence of leadership impact and measurable achievement.

A compelling nomination highlights tangible outcomes — leadership impact, financial performance, team development, guest experience, innovation and operational excellence. Yes. You may nominate several leaders, or nominate the same leader across more than one relevant category where appropriate. Each nomination is treated as a separate submission and evaluated independently on its own merits.
Nominations open early in the awards season and close ahead of jury / management evaluation. Submitting early gives nominees more time to prepare strong supporting evidence. We recommend starting your nomination as soon as you are ready rather than waiting until the deadline.

How Winners Are Decided
Winners are selected exclusively through evaluation by the Jury team or the Management of Golden Tree and merit-based review. No — and we state this plainly. The World GM Awards does not use public voting at any stage. Recognition is decided solely by independent, merit-based jury / management evaluation. This is precisely what gives a World GM Award its credibility with owners, boards, employers and industry peers.
The Jury team or the Management of Golden Tree assesses ten criteria: Leadership Excellence, Financial Performance, Team Development, Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Operational Excellence, Guest Experience, Brand Growth, Market Position and Industry Contribution. Each nomination is scored against these standards for a fair, consistent assessment.
The jury is an independent panel of experienced hospitality, tourism and aviation experts — leaders and specialists who understand what genuine operational and leadership excellence looks like. Their independence ensures that recognition reflects real achievement rather than profile or popularity.
There are four steps: Submit your nomination; our panel conducts an independent assessment of every entry; shortlisted leaders undergo a rigorous, merit-based jury / management evaluation against the published criteria; and winners are announced at the gala. Winners & Recognition
What Recognition Looks Like
Every winner is announced on stage at the gala. The Winner Package is required to activate the winner title: ordering it grants the right to use the award name and winner title, and without a Winner Package the winner title and award name may not be used. The Winner Package provides the trophy, plaque, medal, signed certificate and verified digital badge, and winners are featured across our communications.
Shortlisted leaders are notified directly once the shortlist is confirmed, and winners are revealed at the gala ceremony — the culmination of the season's recognition. Winners and their organisations are also recognised across our editorial and digital channels.
Once the Winner Package is ordered, winners receive the right to use the award name and winner title, a verified digital badge and logo lockup for email signatures, websites, LinkedIn and press, and the physical materials included in the package. A World GM Award strengthens both personal brand and a property's reputation across the global industry.
Because it is decided by independent, merit-based jury / management evaluation rather than popularity or paid placement, a World GM Award is an endorsement that resonates with owners, boards, employers and peers. Gala Ceremony
The Evening of Recognition
The World GM Awards gala takes place on 14 November 2026 at Westin Marina Hotel, Dubai, UAE, Dubai, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The dress code is Black Tie, and the evening includes a reception, gala dinner, the awards presentation and networking.
The evening opens with a red-carpet welcome reception, followed by an opening address and keynote, a curated gala dinner, the awards presentation across all categories, and an evening of live entertainment and networking among the world's most celebrated hospitality, tourism and aviation leaders.
The gala brings together the finest General Managers and senior leaders in global hospitality, tourism and aviation, alongside their teams, partners and guests, for a black-tie celebration at one of Dubai's most iconic beachfront venues. It is as much a networking occasion as a ceremony.
No. Winners are recognised across our communications and receive their digital badge regardless of attendance. That said, the gala is a memorable highlight and a valuable opportunity to celebrate with peers and accept recognition in person. For attendance enquiries, please contact us.
Fees
Costs and Transparency
No. Nomination is free — there is no nomination fee and no registration fee. The Free plan covers one award programme in one category at City level, with a mandatory Winner Package order if you are selected as a winner; optional paid plans start with Silver at USD 140. Confirmed winners order the mandatory Winner Package to activate the winner title and the right to use the award name. We publish every figure transparently. Nomination itself is free. The optional paid plans and the mandatory Winner Package fund the evaluation by the Jury team or the Management of Golden Tree, awards administration, the production of the gala and year-round media coverage and winner fulfilment. No. Fees and tiers have no influence on the outcome whatsoever. Winners are chosen exclusively through evaluation by the Jury team or the Management of Golden Tree and merit-based review. There is no public voting and no pay-to-win at any stage of the World GM Awards.
The Free plan has no fee. Paid nomination plan fees cover work that begins as soon as a submission enters evaluation, so they are generally non-refundable. All refund conditions for nominations and winner packages are set out in full in our refund policy.
